WEAVE US

The
Lenten period is an opportunity to raise funds for the Gardens Project
in Mozambique. Mozambique has many challenges but, like southern
Ontario, has excellent soils with much capacity to grow food and
medicinal plants.
Donated funds would go to the
Christian Council of Mozambique (CCM). As you may know, Bill and Karen
Butt are United Church overseas personnel in Mozambique. CCM will
direct these dollars towards the best use in the Gardens Project.
Opportunities include but are not limited to helping to pay for a
helper to expand the gardens to new areas.
A few dollars goes a long way. For example, it costs about $250 per
month to employ a helper.

From February 25 to April 12, you
can put a coin or bill of your choice into the envelope and use the
daily prayer to help you connect with the work of our partner churches
in Mozambique, the presbytery and with God!
On Easter Sunday the envelope could
go into the offering. If you have your name (or #) and the amount
written on it, your local treasurer can receipt you in the usual
way. We are then asking local treasurers to send one cheque to
London Conference who forwards the money to the CCM (Christian Council
of Mozambique). This is an Extra Measures program that has been
granted to London Conference from General Council Office to enable
closer relationships with M&S projects around the world.
PRAYERS to WEAVE US
